“Connections” – Electrical Switchbox Project

Here are some pictures of the Electrical Switchbox I painted over the Summer. When I moved into my Artist Studio last year, one of the first offers I received was to paint a piece of public art on an electrical switchbox. I had seen them in Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston, and I had always wanted to paint one myself. I had to say yes. Over the course of 2 weeks in July, while finishing a children’s book, while recovering from a back injury, I painted the switchbox on my nights and in my free time on the weekends. I’m really happy with how it came out, and even more happy that I have my first official piece of public art. My parents even got to see it completed. Check out the Malden Arts website here with all of the other artist’s designs (mine’s about halfway down the page), or just check out the locations and come visit Malden to see them in person.

Rich, I am soooo proud of you. I will show your switch box to my aunt Lillian; a resident of Malden over 40 years. She will certainly appreciate the artwork.
