Life – Parts 1 through 4

Here are 4 pictures of some new screen printed designs i did. no idea why i called it “Life.” Maybe it’s because every artist creates a piece of art called “Life.” Part 1 sort of represents the moment a person is created. Part 2 represents this sort of hero representation a person looks up to. Part 3 represents working for something/being led around by your leash (tie). Part 4 represents sleep/death. Maybe i’m just making these explanations up and they’re really just abstract art with no explanation needed for the title. The dimensions of the designs/prints are about 9″ by 13″.

My First Screen-print

The first assignment for my Screen-printing class was to learn the many ways to create stencils in a silk screen and how to register when you’re printing multiple layers/colors. i’m extremely happy with how this came out after working for a good 2 months on this. it’s an image i designed based on my old house, sort of abstracted to include my sketchy, cartoonish style as well as some representational elements. i intend to give everyone in my family that spent part of their lives in that house a copy of one of these prints. The title is sort of a rhyming play on the phrase, “Home is Where the Heart is.” it’s called, “Home is Where i Departed.” The dimensions of the paper are roughly 15″ x 22″ and the printed image is roughly 11″ x 15″.
